C for Crucial 4Cs - 21st Century Learning
This post is about 21st century learning and here I want to share something about it with you.
As you know change is inevitable in the world which means that all the thing that exist around us changes. So does learning.
As technology involves in our life more and more, it becomes a part of learning and education. Therefore, some things require to be different than the past. 21st century learning is the concept that
explains a new perspective to learning better and effectively by learning 4Cs.
1. Critical Thinking - we students need to have the capability of analyzing and evaluating well
2.Collaboration - we are living in this world together, so we should learn working as a team to achieve a goal
3.Communication - being able to express thoughts clearly and receive messages by listening properly
4. Creativity - we need a productive mind to come up with bright ideas so that we can take action
Considering my experiences in my education life, if these skills had been taught us we would not had been drowning in plenty of information and suffering from memorizing things for the sake of passing exams. For me, teachers and student teachers are getting more conscious about 21st century learning and how to use technological tools effectively and today, student centered learning and learning how to learn is getting more popular compared to the past.
What do you think about this issue? What would happen if we had never known technology in our life? Would we need a change in our school life anyway?
